This is a female Vrok game warden with defensive growths on her BotaniTech undersuit.

The females of this species are quite larger and stronger than the males. Because of this, they're often doing the more dangerous tasks of going into the wilds and caring for the animals.

She's got a 'birdmonkey' with her, as well as two 'Glowflies' and a 'Chameladillo'. All of those are temp names, of course.

The little hanging guy is adorable!

So are Vrok sort of "beast masters"? Do they have a natural affinity or do they use their technology to manipulate other species?

As much as a human game warden, really. Due to their society more people would want to be this when they grew up than, say, a lawyer or an astronaut, but they have no supernatural abilities that help them with it. Just lots of time, dedication, and practice.

That's awesome, I was wondering if it was similar to the idea of using pheromones for the insect race. The Vrok could research ways to manipulate other species, but only to make it easier to maintain a peaceful co-existence with them

That would definitely work. I kind of had that in mind, with a trick up their sleeve for every animal that lets them deal with them non-violently.

It also combines the Vrok's love of animal species and bio-tech, giving unique character to their species

The Birdmonkey reminds me of how The Last Airbender had hybrid animals, and things that remind me of The Last Airbender are good things.

Haha, glad to hear it! You're actually not the first person to make that comparison. I guess I'm doing something right!
